Home care: we suggest you handwash - if this isn't an option, machine wash with cold water, no detergent and high heat dryer. The color will fade, this is the earth elements being cleaned away. Every time you wash mudcloth, it becomes softer and softer. I always wash them at the laundromat, I dont like using my house washing machine. I've sewn thousands of these puppies over the years, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I personally re-zigzag the seams to add more security to the structure.
